TA has been one of my best friends since we first met in junior high.
We instantly bonded during teen night at DV8. Our family would drop us off super early and we’d be some of the only kids there. Out of sheer boredom, we made up a game called, “I Bet You A Penny.” We would watch the entrance and say, “I bet you a penny that the next person who walks in is wearing a striped shirt.” We would literally spend hours doing this until more people got there and the club got hype.
Our stories are very similar because our grandparents played a very significant role in our upbringing. His grandma, Momo, was the sweetest lady you ever met. She always greeted everyone who stopped by their house with a smile and “Are you hungry? I made some food.” Oh, man, could Momo cook. My mouth waters thinking about her enchiladas.
