How to Replace Negative Self-Talk with Loving Self-Talk

Happy Monday, HB!

I often get so caught up in the details of life that I forget to live. I am so obsessed with getting to my destination that I don’t smell the roses. Mama Terry is always reminding me to stop and smell the roses. After all, the best part of the journey is the traveling: the people you meet along the way, the things you learn (and, more importantly, unlearn!) and the person you become as a result.

I equate self-love as a journey and an evolution. Along the way, we can use powerful tools that help bring us back to home ourselves. One of these tools is our self-talk.

In today’s blog post, I break down the importance of self-talk, what it is and how to reprogram the negative self-talk that hi-jacks our minds and instantaneously transforms us into the lowest version of ourselves. Next thing you know we throwin’ shoes at a Harper’s Bazaar party during Fashion Week when we should just Michelle Obama the situation. I’ve been there before (the lowest version of myself, not the Harper’s Bazaar after party) and it ain’t pretty.

That being said, I firmly believe that just because we’ve gone down the rabbit hole of negative self-talk doesn’t mean we have to stay there. Nah, boo, we’ve overstayed our welcome and it’s time to go home. Thank goodness we’ve been gifted with the superpower of our focus and we can choose to get the hell out of dodge.

Now it’s your turn. Read today’s blog post and leave a comment with your greatest takeaway. Don’t forget to download the free five minute meditation in the Resource Library. Here’s the LINK to sign up if you aren’t a member.

I’m cheering for you. Like you’re killin’ those mental burpees.
