LaTisha Cotto is a Master Life Coach and Motivational Speaker based out of Waco, Texas. She helps people take center stage in their own lives by reminding them of their innate worthiness and brilliance. People love her straight forward style, sense of humor, and whacky attempts at English colloquialisms.
Her "Meditation & Mindfulness in a Changing World" was a sold-out hit during the the 2017 South By Southwest conference. She has hosted numerous Desire Map workshops throughout Texas and presented "You and Goal Setting" to the Junior League of Austin's members.
When she's not life coaching it up, she's hanging with her daughter, Lyric, rocking Adidas Originals.
LaTisha is proud of her humble roots. Born and raised in Waco, Texas, LaTisha learned very quickly that, although she couldn't see it, a better life was on the horizon. Throughout her childhood, Mama Terry raised her on an annual salary of $18,000 and would put all of her clothes on layaway at K-Mart at the end of the school year, so that she'd be able to have them out in time for the start of the next school year. What Mama Terry lacked in money, she made up for in engagement -- she read to LaTisha every night and made it a point to know what was going on in her studies and her life. As a result, LaTisha loved school and will always consider herself an eternal student. Two of her high school teachers, Mrs. Yolanda Washington and Mrs. Paula Robinson, were fundamental in teaching LaTisha that she could go to college and be somebody. Mrs. Robinson filled out her scholarship application to Agnes Scott College, in which she called LaTisha, "magnanimous." LaTisha has tried to live up to Mrs. Robinson's words every day of her life.
She ended up receiving the first ever Goizueta Scholarship, which gave her a full scholarship to Agnes Scott College (Go Scotties!), a premier women's liberal arts college in metropolitan Atlanta. LaTisha double majored in Economics/Business & Spanish and graduated summa cum laude with a 3.99 GPA. She is thankful to Shuronda Smith and Dr. Ocasio, two of the members of the scholarship committee who gave her a chance. Her prayer has always been, "God, give me a chance and I'll do the rest."
When she was a little girl she always wanted to be in the music business, so she manifested an opportunity to work in the industry. During her senior year in college, LaTisha interned at the Atlanta Chapter of The Recording Academy, where she met Sergio George at one of the Chapter events. When he asked her what she did, she said, "Well, after next Thursday I don't have job. Are you going to hire me?"
Exactly one week later, she packed up a UHaul and moved to Miami, Florida, where she got her start in the Latin music business as his right hand man. She had no clue what she was doing, but she knew if she worked hard, followed up, and prayed to God, everything would be a-okay. She eventually helped SG set up his own label, Top Stop Music, and emphatically insisted that he sign Prince Royce. LaTisha is very proud of Royce's success and not just because he owes her a Louis bag every time he goes platinum. She's still patiently waiting. LOL
LaTisha fell in love with yoga in 2008 when she took her first Mysore style Ashtanga class at Miami Life Center with Tim Feldmann. She clumsily went thru Sun Salutation A and B. Afterwards, she went home and cried because it was so hard. Determined not to quit, she went back for more and she's been at it ever since.
After five years in the business, she moved back to Texas, where she then became a Career Development Coach, helping HVAC and Welding students with their career development. Inspired by her students, she decided to go back to school. In 2014, she graduated with a 3.68 GPA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in Houston, Texas. This is no small feat considering that LaTisha concentrated primarily in Finance. She did this to test out her self-limiting belief that she was not good with numbers. Turns out, she's pretty good with them.
During her time at Rice, she also did her yoga teacher training at YogaOne Studios under the tutelage of Roger and Albina Rippy. She taught both Hot and Flow yoga at YogaOne for approximately 1.5 years. She also did Baptiste Yoga Teacher Training Level One in the Sedona, Arizona heat.
Upon graduation, she worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Mattress Firm. LaTisha is grateful for her time at MFRM because she learned a lot about Corporate Finance and what it takes to run a billion dollar business. However, she knew deep down inside that what really lighted her up was helping people become the best version of themselves.
She got her life coaching certification from the Life Coaching Institute of America. She also has taken Gabrielle Bernstein's Spirit Junkies Level One Masterclass and is an avid Desire Mapper a la Danielle LaPorte. She loves learning about different methodologies and implementing them into her own personal life.
On July 4, 2017, LaTisha started a new chapter in her spiritual journey: motherhood. Lyric Marie is the greatest guru that she's ever had, teaching her about the mysteries of the universe and revealing to her all of the areas in her life that still need healing. Every day begins and ends with a genuine and emphatic prayer of gratitude. LaTisha has so much respect for all of the moms out -- working moms, single moms, stay at home moms, moms of multiples, etc. because she's still trying to figure out how they do it.
She currently offers 1:1 coaching, group coaching, online webinars and courses, in-person workshops, and is working on her first book.
She believes that each individual is powerful and has the ability to create a love he or she absolutely loves. She coaches from her own CPA method: Clarity. Plan. Action. ™
