This Texas girl recently spent a week in the Big Apple. It was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop me from soaking up much needed inspiration. There's something so magical about New York City -- you can't help but tap into your inner mogul and want to make major moves. Jay is absolutely right -- if you can make it in the city that never sleeps, you truly can make it anywhere.
For the next 6 days, I will be sharing with you some tips on how to tap into your own empire state of mind.
Here's your third tip --
Swagger goes a long way.
When New Yorkers are on the move, they have a certain way about them. A confidence, a certainty, a knowing. You can't help but be mesmerized by it or want to be a part of whatever it is that they're up to. It is truly captivating and it rubs off on you -- makes you think that you, too, could walk that walk with just as much or even more je ne sais quoi.
YT Pro Tip: Make a list of people you admire for their confidence. You may know them or you may not. If you do know them, set up a coffee chat. Ask them about where their confidence comes from and how they deal with fear and doubt. Ask them how they make decisions or where they get their confidence from. If you don't know them, list out the qualities you admire in them. Get very detailed. The specificity of this exercise will help you to realize that they are your mirror -- what you see in them is also available to you. You, too, can be just as confident as a New Yorker. It takes practice, commitment, due diligence and the determination to always put your best face forward.
Your soul is rooting for you and so am I.
